LEGO Dimensions Fantastic Beasts patch adds in deliberately omitted real ending

Warner Bros has admitted that the launch version of the Fantastic Beasts expansion to LEGO Dimensions had a slightly different ending to the film so as not to spoil a big surprise.

Suffice to say, spoilers lay ahead, should you be planning on a festive outing to the cinema.

The Harry Potter spin-off concludes with the reveal of Johnny Depp’s Gellert Grindelwald, who had been masquerading as another character the whole time. However, the game excluded this key reveal, although it has now been added in thanks to a title update.

"The Gellert Grindelwald reveal is a fun twist that was initially hidden in LEGO Dimensions so as not to spoil Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them for fans," Warner told Eurogamer. "Soon after the film was released, the cut scene was switched in the game."

Both the game and the film were released in November. While set in the same universe as Harry Potter, it depicts events that predate it and take place across the other side of the Atlantic.
