Majora’s Mask 3D debuts at No.1 in Japan

Nintendo’s handheld RPG re-make The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D has entered the Japanese charts at No.1, Famitsu data reveals.

The title sold 236,536 units in its first week, far ahead of Koei Tecmo’s second place debutant Samurai Warriors 4-II on PS3, which sold 46,923 units.

There are four other new entries in this week’s Top Ten – Bandai Namco’s Nanatsu no Taizai: Unjust Sin on 3DS and Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai: Library Party on Vita and the Vita and PS4 versions of Samurai Warriors 4-II.

Note that both the PS3 and Vita SKUs of Koei Tecmo’s outsold the PS4 release.

In the hardware race the New 3DS LL (XL) finished in the lead, with PS4 a distant second – although it sold almost three times as many units as Wii U. Both Vita TV and Xbox One failed to sell 500 units.
