Master Caster: An interview with Nahaz

Do a quick search for Alan Bester and Google will tell you he’s Associate Professor of Financial Economics at the University of Western Ontario, with a PhD in Economics from Duke University and a 10 year stint teaching Econometrics in Chicago. But scroll down a little, and it becomes clear that Bester is far more than just his distinguished academic career.

His alter-ego, ‘Nahaz’, is paving the way for statistical analysis in eSports. Nahaz burst onto theDota 2scene in 2012 and has since become a well known member of the panel at high profile international competitions, including Valve’s inaugural FrankfurtMajor.The American professor brings a wealth of statistical knowledge and analysis to the table – a perfect compliment to the game knowledge and excitement that comes from the likes ofODPixel,TobiWanandSoe.
