MCV AWARDS 2010: Special Recognition for Stackhouse

Roy Stackhouse, Activision’s UK senior sales director, was honoured with our Retail Advisory Board’s Special Recognition prize at the MCV Awards last night.

Stackhouse has been at Activision for four years, and has held the role of UK sales boss for two years – he was joined the firm in 2006 as channel controller for grocery stores.

Most recently, he oversaw Activision’s faultless delivery of MW2, which hit UK retail in November with the biggest ever day one ship for a new title and no street date worries.

Prior to Activision Stackhouse worked at Gillette as a channel controller for nine years.

The Special Recognition Award winner is voted for by our Retail Advisory Board. The RAB is an expert panel of retail representatives that includes the likes of GAME, HMV, Chips, The Hut and Play.com, plus leading supermarkets and other online and entertainment specialists.

Stackhouse beat industry veterans from 505 Games, Chart-Track, EA, Disney and Square Enix.

The volcanic ash travel disruption prevented him from attending to collect his prize but sent over a video message thanking the RAB for choosing him as the winner.
