MCV AWARDS 2010: Xbox wins Grand Prix

Coinciding with the news that Xbox 360 has just passed the 40m unit sales mark worldwide, Microsoft has stated that it is humbled by its double-award victory at last night’s MCV Awards.

Xbox took home both the Sales Team prize and the prestigious Grand Prix. The format-holder has driven 360 forward by championing key third-party titles, working closely with retail, and heavily backing 2009’s biggest title, Modern Warfare 2.

To be selected amongst over sixty publishers, developers and retailers, for what is arguably the UK video gaming industry’s most prestigious honour, truly is a humbling moment,” the general manager of Microsoft’s Entertainment and Devices Division (UK & Ireland) Neil Thompson stated.

Looking to the future, we believe the best is yet to come and in the next 12 months we’ll see some truly magical experiences come to life in our industry. We really are at an inflection point, where we will only be bounded by the scope of our imagination.

As an industry we will touch more people’s lives than ever before and I wish everyone a successful 12 months ahead.”
