Mega Man Legacy Collection heading to PC, PS4, and Xbox One this summer

A compilation of six Mega Man titles will be released as the Mega Man Legacy Collection for PC and current-gen consoles, Capcom has announced.

The collection is expected to launch later this summer Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A Nintendo 3DS release is also expected to arrive sometime this winter. It’ll cost $14.99 on all platforms.

Mega Man Legacy Collection will pack Mega Man 1-6 in 1080p as well as a number of modern features including challenges, leaderboards, replays, and museum – which will bring with it a visual history of Mega Man games using sketches and official artwork.

Digital Eclipse will develop the release with its new Eclipse Engine – designed to bring classic 8-bit games to modern consoles and PC.

We’re living in the golden age of a brand new form of artistic expression, and we’re not doing a very good job of making sure our games will be available five years from now, let alone fifty,” the studio’s head of restoration Frank Cifaldi said.

The more we can do right now to take video game preservation seriously, the safer our history will be.”
