Microsoft applauds Sonys NPD stats

Having seemingly spent his lunch break on the happy juice, Microsoft’s product director Aaron Greenberg has taken time out to praise Sony for its impressive performance in the March US video games market.

NPD numbers showed that throughout the period more PS3 software was sold than that of any other console. The hardware itself also, for the first time, claimed four entries in the US monthly Top Ten chart.

As well as this, PS3’s 314k unit sales represented its eighth straight month of year-on-year sales gains.

Speaking of the NPD’s on Twitter, Greenberg stated:

Another strong month, solid number two on hardware sales and growing again year-on-year. Kudos to [SCEA’s senior director of corporate communications] Patrick Seybold for some strong software sales.”
