Microsoft says it will narrow gap between Windows Store and Steam titles

Some of the functionality missing from Windows Store versions of PC games will be added in the future, Microsoft has said.

It was reported last week that Steam and Windows Store versions of the same game are not equal, with the former missing some key functionality. For instance, the Store version of Rise of the Tomb Raider does not allow for v-sync to be disabled and doesn’t permit exclusive fullscreen. Both of these features are found in the more conventional release from Steam.

It was also claimed that Store games don’t support SLI and Crossfire (for owners of multiple GPUs). Xbox exec says SLI/CrossFire support is already possible, but must be supported by each title individually. He also vowed to address the v-sync issue.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has separately said that the company is aware of the recent complaints and plans to address them.
