Minecraft documentary to premiere on Xbox Live

2 Player Productions’ upcoming documentary Minecraft: The Story of Mojang will premiere this weekend on Xbox Live.

Major Nelson has announced Gold members in the US, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal, France, Austria, Sweden, and Finland can catch the film in full on Saturday, December 22nd at 8 PM Eastern in the US and 8 PM CET in Europe.

The documentary secured funding in March 2011 through a successful Kickstarter effort that raised $60,000 over its $150,000 goal.

The production team has also produced documentaries on Double Fine, the chiptune scene, and other video game related material.
