Mojang will consider Minecraft PSN; Wii U release unlikely

Mojang will look into making Minecraft available through Playstation after the game’s console exclusivity deal ends with Microsoft.

Edge points to Minecraft lead Jens Bergensten appearance on iGamer, where the developer revealed Mojang is currently mulling additional platforms for its indie sensation.

"Microsoft has an exclusivity deal for consoles," Bergensten said. "When it runs out we’ll consider Minecraft for PlayStation, but Wii U is very unlikely."

The length of the deal for Minecraft XBLA is unknown, though the version launched last May and has sold like hotcakes ever since.

Nintendo, meanwhile, has become familiarized with the cold shoulder treatment for its current hardware, having already seen Crytek nix a Wii U port of Crysis 3 citing business” reasons.
