MS paid for Vesperia exclusivity

A member of Namco Bandai’s European community team has admitted on Facebook that Microsoft paid for RPG title Tales of Vesperia to be an Xbox 360 exclusive outside of Japan.

"Microsoft paid for the exclusivity the same way Sony paid for having Heavy Rain only on PS3," Charlotte Toci stated, as spotted by RPG Site.

"It’s just one way the business works, sadly. Those decisions are made really high up y’know, we do try and give them the max of fan feedback, but sometimes it’s just out of our hands."

Tales of Vesperia is the tenth game in the Tales series and the fifth to be published in Europe. An enhanced PS3 port was released a year after the Xbox 360 version in Japan.
