Myst and Riven composer working on spiritual successor Obduction

The crowdfunded spiritual successor to adventure titles Myst and Riven has attracted the original composer for those games.

Robyn Miller confirmed on Twitter that he will score the soundtrack for Obduction, adding that the game looks amazing”.

Obduction was crowdfunded via Kickstarter back in 2013, with a launch this year originally planned.

Its release was then pushed back to Q2 2016 on PC.

Obduction is being developed by the original creator of Myst and Riven, and Robyn’s brother, Rand Miller.

Together, the siblings founded studio Cyan Worlds, which is backing the new project.

Obduction is said to have no narrative links to either of its predecessors, although its puzzle-filled adventure gameplay is expected to harken back to the 1990s classics.
