Namco plans Star Trek world record

Namco Bandai Partners will be attempting to set a new world record in order to celebrate the launch of Atari’s Star Trek Online.

The company is inviting fans to help beat the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters. Should they succeed, this accomplishment will be listed in the Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition.

The attempt will take place on London’s Millenium Bridge at 1pm on February 14th. The best dressed participants will win exclusive Star Trek Online prizes, including digital versions of last year’s Star Trek film and lifetime subscriptions to the game, worth over 150.

"This should be an absolutely fantastic fun-filled day and definitely one all fans of Star Trek should get involved in," said NBP’s head of UK PR Lee Kirton.

"This is the chance to become part of history with a world record for the largest group of dressed up Star Trek characters in one place.

"Namco Bandai will also have a bunch of fantastic prizes up for grabs on the day for best dressed Trekkers and some prizes for just being part of the day should make it a trip worthwhile."
