New Game of Thrones free on Xbox Live this week

Winter is coming, although it seems that it won’t last beyond the weekend.

Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners in the US are being offered the chance to watch the first episode of the fourth series of Game of Thrones free of charge.

It will be available to all Xbox Live Gold subscribers until April 14th, after which you’ll need to either be signed up to the requisite cable or satellite operators or have an HBO Go account to view the rest of the series.

This particular episode, which debuted at the weekend, was offered for free by a wide variety of platforms.

Xbox Live will also be hosting a handful of other Game of Thrones featurettes.
