New Gears of War confirmed

Master Chief is not the only one making a comeback – the COG forces will return in a brand new Gears of War title.

The shadowy teaser image you can see to the right is the cover of the latest issue of GameInformer, and the US mag reports it is from the next entry in Epic Games’ popular Xbox series.

The game will be officially unveiled on Monday, no doubt during Microsoft’s E3 press conference. The conference kicks off at 5pm GMT – that’s 9am for any of you that will be in the Los Angeles next week.

Speculation suggests the handcuffed figure is series protagonist Marcus Fenix, who was in prison at the start of the first Gears game. That means the new title could be a prequel, exploring what happened to Fenix during his imprisonment.
