New Lord of The Rings game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor revealed

Warner Bros has a new Lord of the Rings game in the works for current and next-gen consoles.

As revealed by GameInformer, it’s called Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and is being developed by FEAR, Condemned and Guardians of Middle-earth creators Monolith Productions.

It depicts events set between those of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring and sees players controlling a lone ranger by the name of Talion as he journeys deep into the heart of Mordor in the days before it transforms into a blasted hellscape”.

Added GameInformer: Along the way, developer Monolith is exploring a fascinating next-gen approach to enemies, encounters, and storytelling, one in which every player shapes their own story through the choices they make.

The Nemesis System assures that every enemy you fight is a named foe, and if they survive their battle with you, they continue to grow, improve, and act in the world, even as you attempt to do the same with Talion.”

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC some time next year.
