New role at Gem for Meredith

Exspect’s Neil Meredith is to assume a new strategic development role next year, MCV can confirm.

The founder and current commercial director Gem’s accessories business will take on his new responsibilities on a part-time basis from April onwards. He will be working on new territory and strategic developments for both the brand and its partners.

We have been inversing for some time to enable Neil’s role to become more strategic and twelve new appointments in the UK, Europe and Hong Kong are a clear demonstration of this,” said Gem MD Chris Peacock.

In Mike Sanderson, Danny Coe and Roger Fok, we have a very strong experienced management team that will be supported by Neil as we take the Exspect brand to bigger and better things.

Neil has been central to the success of Exspect and has developed a great team that we feel confident will further that success. Releasing Neil from the day to day management of the business will enable him to create new initiatives that will further enhance our position in the market.”

Meredith added: I am delighted to have reached this agreement, I love the Exspect brand and I am really proud of what the team have achieved in the past 5 years.

This new, more flexible partnership allows me to help the management team to take the business forward while developing my other interests. The bottom line is that all we want to achieve is even greater things for Exspect and from what I can see in the pipeline the future is incredibly positive.”

Gem has invested heavily in Exspect throughout 2009, and the brand is set to announce two new licensing agreements for its product range in the next few weeks.
