New start-up toy store launches from founder of Gameseek

A new toy store has launched in the UK called ToySeek, with the company’s stated goal to fill the gap left by the closure of Toys R Us and ‘become the ultimate specialist global Toy Superstore’.

The compay’s CEO, Stephen Staley, previously ran gaming outlet Gameseek and brings 16 years of ecommerce experience with him to the new venture. ToySeek is live now, with over 100,000 products listed and available to over 100 countries – and the intention is to expand as the company grows.

Staley said in a press release: “I have always wanted to launch a Toy Superstore and today I am pleased to announce we are live. We are aware of the opportunities and contribution we can bring to the hugely diverse Toy sector.

“We have the knowledge and the team to deliver an excellent customer experience. Shoppers can expect a huge range of products at competitive prices and unlike most of our competitors, delivery to the UK is Free with no minimum spend. We also deliver fast globally with localised payment methods to suit all. We recognise the importance of putting our customers first.”

Staley’s previous business, Gameseek, went into liquidation suddenly earlier this year, with customers told to fill in Proof of Debt forms in order to receive refunds on orders.

The previous company was known for aggressive pricing policies, with huge discounts on brand new AAA titles making headlines for it this time last year – and a pricing error on the Nintendo Switch being honoured, with those pre-ordering the machine getting an £80 discount for no reason other than that’s the price it was listed at on Gameseek.
