Next Gears Of War on next gen consoles?

Epic Games president Michael Capps hinted that the next instalment in the highly popular Gears Of War series may not appear until the next generation of consoles arrives.

Speaking at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, he explained that the developer has been working on Unreal Engine 4.

He later told Eurogamer that, if the next Gears were to be based on this engine, it wouldn’t be released on the current generation of consoles.

If we ship a game in the next few years, it’ll be Unreal Engine 3,” he said. If we ship a game on next [generation] consoles, it will likely be Unreal Engine 4.”
