No More Heroes 2 to get gore-free version

No More Heroes 2 development head Goichi Suda, of development studio Grasshopper Manufacture, has stated that his

upcoming Wii sequel

No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle will be released in two different versions – one censored and one uncut.

We won’t be able to make the same game for all territories,” Suda 51 told Eurogamer. For Europe, we’re going to release two versions. One extreme version, and one with less violence. With No More Heroes 2 we want to please the fans too. I want the European users to be able to experience the extreme version.”

No More Heroes got gamers tongues wagging when it was confirmed that both the European and Japanese versions of the title would be censored to omit some of the gorier elements present in the North American release, such as the bloody dismemberment. The edited version, in contrast, saw downed foes turn into ash and disintergrate.
