OnLive expands game streaming service offering in Europe

Cloud gaming firm OnLive has announced the expansion of its eponymous game streaming service to six new European regions.

The OnLive service will be made available in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, The Netherlands and Ireland during Q4 2014.

OnLive is currently available in the USA, Canada and UK.

The company stated that following a recent client beta in March for PC, Mac, Android, consoles and smartphones, it had been able to scale up its infrastructure and provide more countries with full account sign-ups and access to OnLive’s CloudLift and PlayPack subscription services.

Since day one we’ve seen a sizeable chunk of traffic from these regions because of their great connectivity and bias towards our client platforms,” said Bruce Grove, GM of OnLive. That interest has continued to grow, and we’re close to completing the network operations necessary to deliver full services in these regions. Expect more announcements in the very near future.”

Access to the OnLive subscription packages, which now comprise of over 300 game titles, will be charged in Euros, while PayPal has also been added as a payment method for OnLive users worldwide.
