OutRun times out on PSN

After just 18 months on the market, Sega has confirmed that OutRun Online Arcade has been pulled from Sony’s PlayStation Network.

The reason is that Sega’s licensing agreement with Ferrari has now expired on PS3. The game remains available on Xbox 360, however.

"Due to the expiry of the contract with Ferrari, Outrun Online Arcade will remain offline on PSN but will still be available on XBLA until Dec 2011," Sega told CVG.

It’s not known whether Sega is currently pursuing the chance to renew the licence.
