PC games retail has become polarised, says NCSoft

Only a handful of PC gamesare breaking through at UK retail, says publisher NCSoft.

But the company is confident that its newest MMO WildStar will win over fans on the High Street after seeing impressive pre-orders, and a strong reaction to the beta.

In fact, the firm says WildStar should prove to be one of the biggest PC releases at retail this year.

Based on the feedback from the beta and pre-orders so far, we’re expecting WildStar to sell very well,” said senior sales manager at NCSoft Simon Cowley.

The PC market has become very polarised, with only a handful of products seeing strong sales. We’re expecting WildStar to be one of the pillar PC releases of 2014.

It’s a key release for the summer period. Guild Wars 2 showed there is great passion for high quality MMOs from UK consumers, both online and in stores and we expect WildStar to continue that trend.”
