Blizzard might offer free copies of WoW to Warcraft moviegoers

Buying a ticket to Duncan Jones’ upcoming Warcraft movie might also grab you a free copy of the MMO.

PCGamesN reports that Blizzard sent a survey to players of the game. In it was touted the possibility of offering anyone who buys a ticket to see the film an ‘Ultimate Movie Edition’ SKU including the base game, all of the existing expansions and a free month of game time.

Blizzard has on Reddit confirmed the survey as being legitimate.

As the site points out, giving away the existing game probably makes a lot of sense. It’s hard to see many new copies being sold in the future, plus the next expansion, Legion, could well be out around the time of the movie. A new wave of owners would give that DLC a big boost.

Warcraft is due out in the UK on June 3rd.
