Cities: Skylines surpasses 500,000 sales

Cities: Skylines has run past 500,000 sales in less than a week.

The game became Paradox Interactive’s fastest-selling title thanks to it moving 250,000 copies on launch day. The company revealed yesterday that number has now doubled:

"Looks like we broke the 500k barrier, HUGE thanks to every single Chirpy who has supported us so far!" the company posted on the game’s official Twitter account.

The game scored a resounding victory on Steam’s top ten sales chart last week (possibly breaking the system as well), and appears poised to do it again for a second week.

Paradox has also detailed plans to battle piracy of Cities: Skylines by making sure the premium version offers better service for players through regular free updates and Steam integration.
