Help: The Game features titles created in six days during a global games jam and costs £9.99, with all profits going towards charity

Creative Assembly, Bossa, Rovio and more sign on for War Child charity games bundle

12 of the industry’s best-known studios have shown their charitable side by contributing to a special games bundle for organisation War Child.

Help: The Game features titles made in six days as part of a worldwide games jam, with developers including Bossa Studios, Creative Assembly, Curve Digital, Hardlight, Modern Dream, Rovio Sweden AB, Spilt Milk Studios, Sports Interactive, Sumo Digital, Team 17 and Torn Banner all inputting their talent.

The 12 titles included are: 10 Minute Tower, A Verdant Hue, Anthelion, BlockAid, Captain Curve’s Intergalactic Space Adventure, Emily: Displaced, Help: The Game, Malkia, NeverMine, Octamari Rescue, Rise, Savana, and Splash Bash.

Released on Steam, the pack costs £9.99 – all profits will go towards War Child, which helps children impacted by conflict around the world.

“When we first revealed the plans for Help: The Game we were cautiously optimistic that it would generate some interest throughout the games business, but the level of enthusiasm that came back to us exceeded our expectations,” said Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson, who is also chairman of the War Child UK Help: The Game committee.

“Having seen the results of those jams, it’s obvious that the studios who’ve taken part have been having a lot of fun – now it is the gamers’ turn.”

War Child UK CEO Rob Williams agreed: “It’s fitting that the games business has taken this project to its heart as, after all, every child should have the right to play but not all get that chance.

“We’re extremely grateful to everyone who has agreed to get involved and we hope their efforts will not only raise much-needed funds, but also awareness of our work amongst a vast audience of gamers across the globe.”
