Elder Scrolls Online players get PC-to-console switch discount

Current players of Bethesda’s MMO title The Elder Scrolls Online are being offered the chance to switch to consoles at a discounted fee.

Eurogamer reports that owners are able to migrate their characters and progress from PC to either PS4 or Xbox One for 12.99. That price includes a digital copy of the game.

Note, however, that the deal appears to be a limited time offer.

"This special offer to pre-purchase a digital copy of an Xbox One and/or PlayStation 4 version of the game will only be available on the store for 30 days," an email sent to customers reads.

"After the 30-day period, you will no longer be able to purchase this special digital copy of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for console or copy your PC/Mac account to console in any other way."

The next-gen versions of the MMO aren’t out until June 9th, and it’s not yet known when precisely the migrations will take place. It is also implied that should players wish to make the jump back to PC they may not be able to take their characters with them.

Bethesda last month dropped the game’s monthly subscription fee. Prior to that owners were required both to purchase the game and pay a monthly charge.
