Guild Wars 2 break 2m sales barrier

NCsoft has revealed that its new MMO has shifted 2m units worldwide.

The firm set it hit the target shortly after turning back on its digital download options. Gamers could not download the game due to server issues.

NCsoft says peak players is currently at 400,000 online. The game topped the charts in terrorities around Europe including the UK. However, the game suffered a severe 84 per cent drop in sales during its second week on sale, slipping to No.6 in the UK charts.

"Reactions from around the world justified the time and care we put into developing Guild Wars 2and making it into the game it is today", said president and co-founder of ArenaNet Mike O’Brien.

"And this is only the beginning. We’re continually fine-tuning the game to deliver the polished experience that our players expect, and we’re already working on new adventures and experiences to introduce into this truly dynamic online world."
