Hatred issued Adults Only rating

Destructive Creation’s controversial upcoming title Hatred has been issued an AO for Adults Only rating by the Entertainment Software Rating Board.

Speaking with Games Industry, an unidentified ESRB representative confirmed the rating – adding that content descriptors for intense language, violence, blood and gore would be required for sale of the game.

"Based on the content depicted in Hatred and the overall context of the game, ESRB assigned an AO (Adults Only) rating with content descriptors that include Intense Violence, Blood and Gore, and Strong Language,” the rep stated.

Games carrying the AO rating aren’t allowed on all active console systems between Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony, and most retail shops tend to shy away from carrying any AO-labled products.

That said, the game is still on track for a release via popular digital distribution platform Steam – though the outlet doesn’t currently carry any games with the rating. Valve has yet to comment on the matter.
