Atom Developer Program free to studios for a limited time

Intel waives app development kit fee

The Intel Atom Developer Program is now available to studios for free.

Intel has waived the regular $99 subscription fee as part of a promotional push for the SDK, which will be running alongside the Intel Atom Developer Challenge.

The developer challenge, which can be entered until August 16 this year, asks studios to produce the best app built with the Intel kit.

The Atom SDK gives studios a range of tools for building netbook apps, including technical information and frequent updates. Also included is in-app advertising, subscriptions, and links to external marketplaces for in-app purchases for a limited time.

Further details of the program, as well as information on the developer challenge, can be found on the Intel website.
