Layoffs hit Perfect World’s Cryptic Studios

Perfect World Entertainment has laid off an unknown number of staff, with reports suggesting a significant portion of its workforce has been affected.

MMO siteMassively Overpoweredreports the "potentially massive" layoffs were first revealed via a tweet by Ben PerLee, former PR for Perfect World. The original tweet, and a second calling the job cuts "a slaughter" have since been deleted.

The confirmed layoffs seem to centre around Star Trek Online, with no word on whether they affect Neverwinter or non-Cryptic IP. Any threads discussing the cuts on the Star Trek Online message boards have been locked by moderators.
