Minecraft Realms launches worldwide

Mojang’s private Minecraft server subscription service Minecraft Realms is available now worldwide.

The developer announced the news earlier this week on its blog, explaining that the service is now an option wherever Minecraft is available.

The service launched in North America last month, adding to its growing list of region’s serviced since its initial release in Sweden. A subscription runs $13 a month in North America, however discounts are offered for those who opt to purchase three or six-month subscriptions.

The post adds that while Realms is available only for the PC/Mac version of Minecraft, the team plans on releasing it on other formats in the future.
