One third of Steam users are running Windows 10

The PCs of one in three Steam users are running Windows new operating system.

According to Steam’s updated Hardware and Software survey, 32.77 per cent of users are running Windows 10. During the company’s last questionnaire, 28 per cent of users were running Windows 10.

It isn’t the most popular operation system though – Windows 7 64 bit took that prize with 34.31 per cent of respondents using that.

Windows 10 did see the biggest spike in usage, however, with a 1.52 per cent change. But with 1.54 per cent between Windows 10 and Windows 7, it may not be long before the former takes the top spot.

Windows 10 debuted in July 2015, and at the start of 2016, Microsoft announced that the OS had been installed on over 200 million devices.

At the time, Yusuf Mehdi – corporate VP for Microsoft’s Windows and Devices group – said that Windows 10 has had the fastest growth trajectory of any version of Windows ever.”
