Star Citizen’s crowdfunding effort surpasses $80m mark

The unstoppable crowdfunding force that is Star Citizen has surpassed $80m in funding.

Roberts Space Industries funding page shows the in development PC and Linux game is approaching $80.5m at time of publication – the latest milestone was reached thanks to a recent sale on ships and other in-game items.

The development team has also kicked off a new video series called 10 for the Artists which mentions a new premium subscription option that gives players the ability to make regular contributions to the project.

"Lance Powell and Elwin Bachiller answer your questions about Star Citizen in the inaugural episode of Ten for the Artists! Each show features 10 questions asked by subscribers, chosen from development for each show,” the video description reads.
