The Witcher 3 surpasses 1m pre-orders

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has amassed more than 1m pre-orders ahead of its launch later this month, developer CD Projekt Red has announced.

The milestone was reached across PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms. CD Projekt Red didn’t provide a breakdown for how much each platform has sold, though the game finished third on Steam’s most recent weekly top sellers chart.

"We’ve crossed the 1 million pre-order milestone and it’s all thanks to you guys! We would like to thank all the gamers for their trust and support," studio co-founder Marcin Iwi?ski said.

"This is the last stretch and we’re pushing hard—over the last two weeks, we’ve increased performance on all platforms and started working full speed on the expansions, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine."

CD Projekt Red previously revealed that owners of the game will receive all 16 pieces of DLC for free. Starting May 20th, the developer plans to release two pieces of DLC each week.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launches worldwide on May 19th.
