Higher community score in demo for Shadwen means a lower release price for the full title

Trine dev Frozenbyte links popularity to price for new game

Frozenbyte is drumming up interest in its latest release by basing the title’s price point on the popularity of its demo.

Shadwen is a new PC stealth adventure from the Trine creator, set for release next week.

Ahead of its launch on Steam, Humble and GOG, Frozenbyte has released a demo which is keeping track of the community’s achievements – each goal the players reach, the cheaper the full game becomes.

Among the contributing metrics are in-game stats such as guards killed, detection-free runs and pacifist completions.

At the time of writing, the community’s score sits at just under 1.4 million, relating to a current price of $24.70.
