PewDiePie becomes first-ever YouTube channel to exceed 10 billion views

Internet celebrity Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg has become the first person to be watched more than 10 billion times on YouTube.

Kjellberg’s weight within the games industry has been long known, but the news that his videos have been watched more times than there are people on the Earth (7.3 billion) is certainly noteworthy in itself.

The Swedish-born video creator has earned mainstream recognition, with a guest spot on South Park and various other appearances outside of the online video site.

Kjellberg is ahead by a country mile, too; the second-most-watched YouTube channel is Chilean comedian HolaSoyGerman with two billion views, while third place goes to YouTube’s own Spotlight outlet with 600 million watches.
