Platinum Games president Tatsuya Minami steps down, report claims

Reports in the Japanese press suggest that Tatsuya Minami, the president of developer Platinum Games, has stepped down from his role and currently left the company.

Kotaku says that Japanese site Game Business reckons Minami left in March and that his position has been filled by former admin director Kenichi Sato. Development team members Atsushi Inaba and Seigo Tabira have also joined the board.

Minami is one of Platinum’s founders, having previously worked for Capcom. He is still listed as president on the Platinum website.

Platinum’s most recent title, Star Fox Zero, will be released for Wii U tomorrow. Reviews of the game have been mixed, although those that are negative are overtly so. The game currently has a 72 rating on Metacritic, while Polygon even went as far as refusing the review the game as the reviewer disliked it so much he wasn’t willing to complete the game.
