Play.com appoints new CEO

Apple’s former senior director of Northern and Southern Europe John Perkins is to become the new CEO of online retailer Play.com, according to a report from Cue Entertainment.

Perkins has been at Apple for eight years, but will take up his new position at Play.com on April 19th.

The retailer’s chairman Richard Goulding said of the appointment: We believe that John provides diverse, international management experience that will be of great benefit to both our company and out customers.”

It is thought that Perkins will oversee Play.com’s emerging digital strategy.
