Popcorn Arcade: We’ll be biggest Wii developer

In a bid to ‘become the biggest developer for the Wii’, they have also hired five new staff: Gerard Mulcahy, Lee Parke and Samuel Hanke join the company as junior programmers while David Wolsey and Marc Geahchan enter the art department. The new studio will be headed up by Robert Dorney, who has been with the company for nine years.

With the incredible success of the Nintendo Wii’s casual gaming market, we want our Popcorn Arcade brand to be the must-have purchase for the casual gamer,” said Stewart Green, MD of Data Design Interactive.

We have 14 titles that we want to ship this year, four of which already have gold master status and another 3 have been submitted to Nintendo for final approval. To keep up with this staggering momentum, we have set up a new development studio, where a brand new team can immediately start working on existing titles and start developing our planned 30 future titles over the next 12 months.”
