2m sign up for COD Elite beta

More than two million consumers have signed up to participate in the upcoming Call of Duty Elite public beta.

The figure was revealed by Activision’s social media manager Dan Amrich via his One Of Swords blog, where he also confirmed that the beta would begin on July 14th.

He also encouraged any Call of Duty fans that have yet to sign up to do so, in the hopes of getting a more representative portion of the franchise’s 30m-strong fanbase involved with the new social network.

Several people have asked me how many people have signed up for the Call of Duty Elite beta,” said Amrich. I just got the number back, and it blew my mind. More than two million gamers have signed up so far – and they hit that number in less than two weeks.

Don’t be discouraged by the big number, thinking you shouldn’t bother because they already have enough people – two million volunteers among 30 million Call of Duty players is a small amount. More would be even better.”
