Activision details Destiny beta runs on PlayStation and Xbox consoles

Destiny’s beta will take place later this month as two four-day runs on PlayStation hardware and one four-day run on Xbox consoles, Activision has announced.

While Sony and Microsoft separately announced beta release windows last month, the game’s publisher has finally confirmed specific dates for the pre-release test. Destiny’s beta runs July 17th-28th on PS3 and PS4, and July 23rd-28th on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

PlayStation owners with beta access can start playing at 1 pm ET on July 17th. Bungie will then take the beta offline from July 21st-22nd for maintenance, and open it back up on July 23rd at 1 pm ET – at which point it will go live on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and live again on PS3 and PS4.

Destiny is set for an official launch on September 9th. A new trailer accompanied the announcement as well:
