Activision’s ‘greatest’ Spider-Man game braced for Box Office boost

Fans will not be disappointed by the new Amazing Spider-Man game, Activision says.

The firm admits Spidey titles have had a chequered history, so has made sure this year’s movie tie-in got a full two-year development cycle.

Traditionally, Spider-Man games based on films have been the more successful titles. And this year’s edition acts as a sequel to the summer blockbuster.

We’ve had some hits and misses but this is the best Spidey game yet,” says the game’s producer Doug Heder.Development wasn’t rushed – we had the full two years to work on this. And we brought back what fans have been asking for.”

The game hits shelves on June 26th, one week ahead of the film which airs in cinemas on July 3rd.

It’s a chance to take advantage of that excitement that happens at the time of the film release,” says Heder. We want to leverage that attention the movie season offers us.”
