Aliens: Colonial Marines delayed. Again.

Sega’s Aliens FPS has been pushed back to an autumn 2012 release.

Gearbox confirmed to CVG that the game would not be released in time for its most recent date of spring.

"Aliens: Colonial Marines is process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line," said a spokesperson for the studio.

"While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective. We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blueprint. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blueprint because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritising this goal over the previously targeted date."

The game was first announced for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC way back in 2008, and was due for release in 2009.

After a number of delays, it was "reannounced" last year with a spring 2012 release date.
