Microsoft and Creative England offering up to £50,000 in funding

Applications open for Greenshoots incubator

The Greenshoots incubator has re-opened and is calling for developer applications.

Organised by Creative England and Microsoft, the Greenshoots programme offers independent studios from around England – although outside Greater London – funding, business support and workshops in order to boost the development and launch of a new game.

Up to £50,000 is available to early stage games developers, as well as mentoring and guidance from Xbox. Successful applicants will also be part of the ID@Xbox programme and have the opportunity to meet investors.

Greenshoots has invested £764,000 in 24 games firms over the last couple of years, with previous recipients including Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade dev Pixel Toys and Crime Coast creator Pixel Squad.

The deadline for applications is August 2nd. You can apply here.

“We’ve seen some incredible games come through the Greenshoots initiative and onto our ID@Xbox programme,” said Agostino Simonetta, ID@Xbox’s EMA Regional Lead.

“The UK has long been home to some incredible developers and we’re proud to continue to support Creative England in finding the next wave of up-and-coming UK gaming studios.”
