Atari plots yearly Driving Theory instalments

Driving Theory Training for Nintendo DS was released last week, and publisher Atari has confirmed to MCV that they are already looking at next year’s update.

The game failed to make an impact on the ChartTrack Top 40 this week, however Atari’s Lee Kirton insists that he never expected the game to fly off shelves, with the publisher targeting long-tail success.

We didn’t expect the game to fly off shelves come release,” said Kirton. But it’s a game that will sell steadily month after month, a real long-tail release. We also feel this game will contribute to saving lives. Because the game’s so entertaining, we’re hoping people will take in a lot more, and not just the required knowledge to pass their test.

Driving Theory Training on DS is set to be a full franchise, and we’ll be bringing a new title out every September,” he added. We’re already preparing new features, such as Hazard Perception, for next year’s release.”

Driving Theory Training is available now.
