BETHESDA: Fallout Shelter is out right now

Bethesda has announced and launched a new Fallout game at the same time.

Fallout Shelter is a new management game for smartphones where players can build and look after their own Vault, complete with inhabitants. It is available on iOS and Android, it utilises the freemium business model but it won’t be one of those rubbish free-to-play games – at least that’s what Bethesda’s Todd Howard promised on stage.

In what has become known as ‘doing an Apple’, the concept is not entirely new. Sega actually did it with the Saturn some 20 years ago at E3 1995. Nintendo has even been doing it recently with titles such as Boxboy.

The title is the precursor to a full new Fallout title, which is scheduled for this November.
