BioShock Infinite delayed to March

The next outing in the acclaimed BioShock series won’t be arriving the February as planned.

Instead, the hotly anticipated Irrational Games project will hit shelves on March 26th – exactly one month later than its planned February 26th release.

Irrational boss Ken Levine told the press at a recent preview event that the delay is to allow more time for fixing bugs and polishing, according to Eurogamer.

"Where [former Gears of War franchise director] Rod Fergusson came on board we looked at the game," said Levine.

"He was there for about a month and he said, ‘look, I’ve been looking at the schedule and looking at the game and frankly you could really benefit from another three or four weeks for polish and bug fixing’.

"We talked about it. I knew I’d probably get beat up in the press a little bit about it. But at the end of the day, if it’s going to make a better game we’re going to do it.

"So the new date is March 26th. That’s my bad news."

This is the second time the game has been delayed, but Levine dismissed suggestions that the game has had a troubled development, saying there has been "nothing particularly dramatic".
