Black Ops breaks UK sales record

Call of Duty: Black Ops has become the biggest selling game in UK games market history, GfK ChartTrack has just confirmed.

The game was released in November last year and has already leapfrogged sister title Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to claim the top spot. It’s cumulative UK sales up to June 25th stood at 3,722,411 – just ahead of the previous champ at 3,702,410.

Activision’s UK MD Andrew Brown said: This is an outstanding achievement for the development team at Treyarch and the amazing Call of Duty community.”

The latest Black Op maps pack, Annihilation, is released on Xbox Live today – with PS3 and PC versions to follow.
