Blizzard shooter Overwatch is coming to PS4 and Xbox One

Blizzard’s upcoming shooter Overwatch has been confirmed for a console release, having previously only been revealed for PC.

The title, which grew out of the studio’s cancelled Titan MMO project, is a class-based first-person shooter which features a number of distinct characters with unique abilities – not unlike MOBA games such as Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm and League of Legends.

Overwatch was revealed almost exactly one year ago at BlizzCon 2014, but only a PC release was detailed.

Now, the game has been confirmed for release on PS4 and Xbox One, with an ‘Origins Edition’ SKU priced at $60 (40) at US retailer GameStop.

This year’s BlizzCon takes place this weekend, where more details of Overwatch are likely to emerge.
